I am a researcher specializing in Design, Systems, and Futures Thinking. My work deconstructs the process and evaluation of design innovation activities. This involves leveraging user experience design fundamentals, emerging technologies, and social & environmental systemic frameworks.

As a Research Scientist at MIT's Ideation Lab, I study access, engagement, and self-perception in the context of engineering design and prototyping experiences. My approach involves using a range of qualitative research methods and design process frameworks.

As an Innovation Architect at NASA support the Transformational Tools and Technologies (TTT) Project, I create LLM supported workflows, identify promising areas of transformational impact, and leverage Strategic Foresight methods to project and study pathways to desirable futures.

Research Interests

Predicting Early-Stage Design Success across Value Systems

Investigating predictors of success from the early stages of design. Critical to these studies are the various definitions of success -- thus a firm grasp of distinct value systems is essential to this work.

Access, Engagement, and Self-Perception within Engineering Design and Prototyping Experiences

Investigating how the social and environmental context of prototyping spaces and experiences impacts an individual.

Strategic Foresight for the Future of Public Services and Institutions

Leveraging the power of Critical Futures Studies (CFS) and Systems Thinking to identfy pathways to desirable futures of technology and culture in a post-capitalist world.
